The first story place of the Ramcharitmanas
Shri Ramayanam Dham is a divine and spiritually powerful land, important from historical, religious, and spiritual viewpoints.
- The local deity “Shri Ramakinkareswar Mahadev” is unique, self-manifested, and considered very ancient by archaeologists.
- On Lord Shiva’s linga, the sacred thread (janeu) is naturally inscribed and becoming clearer with time.
- The holy river Saryu once flowed here, and it is believed that Mother Janaki (Sita) used to bathe at this ghat, hence the name “Janaki Ghat.”
- Even today, water appears under the sand if dug 5–6 feet, showing the ashram is situated within the Saryu’s bed.
- Goswami Tulsidas mentioned this place in the Ramcharitmanas.
This holy book was written 400 years ago with the blessings of Lord Shiva.
- On the banks of River Saryu, Goswami Tulsidas bowed before Lord Shankar and first sang the Ramkatha on the birthday of Lord Rama (Ram Navami) at this very place.
- Later, Yug Tulsi Maharaj Shri Ramkinkar also realized the spiritual power of this land and founded the “Ramayanam Ashram” here. He spent many years in meditation and finally took samadhi on this sacred land.
- The combined devotion of these two saints—Tulsidas and Shri Ramkinkarji—continues to spread divine light across the world.
- At Ramayanam, daily rituals and cultural, educational, and spiritual activities take place under the guidance of the Maharaj’s teachings. Chandan prasadam is regularly received from the Kanak Bhavan temple of Ayodhya for him, where continuous worship and rituals are performed.
